Cannabis comes from the hemp plant. It can come as the dried form of the plant

A cannabis cigarette is known as a spliff or joint. These are hand rolled cigarettes with cannabis and usually tobacco in them. Remember tobacco kills over 100,000 people each year and is a physically addictive drug. Some people believe tobacco is the biggest danger of smoking a spliff or joint but cannabis comes with risks as well.

Cannabis is now a class C drug. This does not mean it is legal, you can still get 2 years for possession. People aged 18 and over will not usually be arrested for possession. However, you could be arrested for smoking it in public, if you have the drug around children or schools or for repeat offences.
Under 17’s will still be arrested for possession. The maximum sentence for dealing will still be 14 years, just like a class B drug. Remember just passing it on is classed as dealing, you don’t have to make any money.
If you get a drug conviction it can stop you from travelling to other countries, from getting certain types of jobs, get you thrown out of school/college and not make you popular at home!
